Booking.com is an online travel agency (OTA), leader in the industry of bed sales, offering more than one million accommodations in 230 countries, which each year recognizes some hotels with the Guest Review Award for their exceptional hospitality, as evidenced in the review scores left by guests.
Thanks to the popularity of Booking.com and the volume of traffic they generate on their website, the opinions of travelers are very useful to other travelers. Unlike other Review Platforms, in order to write a review on Booking.com the user must have stayed at the hotel. This way, the opinions on Booking.com have much more credibility and relevance for future travelers than the ones on other platforms where anyone can leave a review, even without having stayed at the hotel. Guests evaluate the hotel on topics such as: location, staff, cleanliness, comfort, facilities and services, and value for money.
To be a winner of the 2018 edition, hotels need to get a final review score between 8 and 10. That score is the average value of all reviews published on Booking during the 24 months preceding 1st November 2018.
